![]() ![]() I usually scrap them all and turn them into damage items. Personally I have never even felt the need to ever take any healing items because of Void Fiends R. After this I usually play it safe and just slowly chip away at the boss in the non corrupt form.Īlways remember that your shift allows you to take no damage as well so you can escape quite easily. While I am not doing a boss fight I am always spamming his R so that I can keep my long range M1.īefore doing boss fights I make sure my corruption meter is about 90% so that when I start a boss fight I am in corrupted form and can shred through the boss. The key to doing good with void fiend is managing your corrupted vs normal form. I have had about 5-6 runs with him and about 4 of them have been god runs. Personally I have found void fiend to be super good. I don't know, maybe i just need to give it more time, but it definitely feels clunky as of right now Safer spaces does seem nice, though i think the shield only comes up once every 15? seconds and it doesn't help against a lot of the damage I tend to take. And also once you're transformed, keeping up topaz brooch requires you to be in close range which is also dangerous if you don't do enough damage to one-shot literally everything which requires an ungodly amount of luck. Spamming the R in normal form seems to be the only consistent way to keep your one shot protection up without healing items, but again the issue is once you transform, you're screwed since you have no safe choice. I have definitely noticed that topaz brooch seems to be very strong on them, as they are an indirect way of keeping yourself alive, but my issue with them is that they don't really help later on, especially once you reach the point where your one shot protection is important. If anyone has any advice for things that worked for them please let me know because I would love to make it work but I just don't know how. The character is fun and all, but it just feels so awful to play. Even with just a harvester scythe and a few crit lenses the only way for me to transform was if I took my hands off the keyboard entirely and waited for enemies to hit me, which is also counterintuitive because that means I would transform at less than half hp, and thus be stuck at low health in melee form with my main source of healing gone which leads to death. You are punished for healing, but with the huge difficulty spike once void seeds start spawning it is basically impossible to make it past stage 3 without a healing item, but once you have a healing item you are stuck in your normal form more or less permanently. My main issues are that their gimmick just feels bad and clunky. ![]() ![]() I've yet to find any items that make them playable, and I'm wondering what other people think. I have about 20 hours in the dlc so far (yeah I've basically been playing only ror2 in my freetime) and I have spent the majority of it playing as the void fiend, only to be disappointed by how bad they are after about stage three. No offense to the character, I think that the void fiend is super fun and definitely new in terms of character design and gameplay, but they just feel awful to play on monsoon no matter what I try. ![]()
